States Expect Tax Revenue to Rise after Closing Gap

States expect that the tax revenue will rise 3.7 percent after they raised taxes and cut spending to help shrink the budget gap of $84 billion. However, many states may need to cut further to close the gap if additional funding for Medicaid is not extended.
